Ricoh KR-5 35mm SLR Film Camera with SMC Pentax-M 40-80mm f/2.8-4 Zoom Lens
This listing is for a near mint Ricoh KR-5 35mm single-lens reflex (SLR) film camera, fully tested and paired with an SMC Pentax-M 40-80mm f/2.8-4 zoom lens. Introduced in 1978, the KR-5 is a simple, tough and reliable fully manual SLR. It takes Pentax K-mount lenses, which gives you access to a huge range of affordable glass. It’s a brilliant camera for learning the fundamentals of exposure, and a great alternative to the Pentax K1000.
The camera has a mechanical metal-blade shutter that fires at every speed without a battery. Batteries are only needed for the built-in TTL match-needle light meter. The SMC Pentax-M 40-80mm zoom is a versatile, well-built lens covering a natural wide-normal view through to short telephoto. That makes it ideal for street photography, travel, everyday shooting and portraits. Its bright f/2.8 maximum aperture at 40mm helps in lower light, and a close-focus macro mode at 80mm lets you get in tight on flowers and small details. Pentax’s renowned Super Multi-Coating gives sharp, contrasty, colourful results.
