This listing is for a genuine Pentax Cable Switch F electronic remote shutter release, tested and in full working order. Pentax introduced it alongside its autofocus film SLRs, and it works with many of the SF, Z/PZ, MZ/ZX and 645 series cameras. It lets you fire the shutter without touching the camera, which is ideal for long exposures, night photography, landscapes, macro work and self-portraits.

It works just like your camera’s own shutter button. A half press activates autofocus and metering, and a full press fires the shutter. A sliding lock holds the button down for Bulb exposures, so you can keep the shutter open for as long as you need without holding it. With an approx. 1m cable you can stand well clear of the tripod, and as a genuine Pentax part it plugs straight into the camera’s remote socket. No batteries are needed.
